The Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU) of TUC Ghana has called on it’s members to suspect impending strike action and go back to work.
This comes after a press release circulating on the internet, signed by the Gen. Secretary, Godfred Abubire states that the transport union has been called by the presidency for negotiations.
The CPRTCOU consists of the GPRTU, Association of Tipper Truck Drivers, Harbour Transport Owners, the Ghana National Cargo Transport Association, the Ghana Committed Drivers Association, the Concerned Drivers Association, Digital Drivers, commercial motorbike riders, the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, among others.
The coalition on November 9, 2021, threatened to embark on strike if government did not reduce fuel prices.

SUSPENSION OF STRIKE ACTION
The intended strike action which was scheduled to take effect today Monday 6th December 2021 has been suspected.
The leadership of the union had been invited to the presidency during the course of the day.
Development will be communicated to members.
We therefore entreat our cherished members to go back to their normal duties.
